A giant, unidentified metal orb washed up on beach on the coast of Japan at Enshu Beach in Hamamatsu. It’s about 5 ft in diameter and rusty orange and crazy heavy, the big ball was nicknamed “Godzilla Egg.” With no distinct markings other than two handles, it was immediately investigated by a bomb squad to make sure it wasn’t a stray mine, but was quickly ruled out as a threat when x-ray revealed it to be hollow on the inside. Authorities are still not sure exactly what it is, though. They’re thinking possibly a ball buoy that has been floating so long at sea that all its markers have been washed away. Theories abound on Twitter.
