In Strange News: Underwater Stone Age Wall Discovered!
Scientists studying marine geology in the Baltic Sea have located an ancient underwater wall from the Stone Age! Whaaaaa??
It was discovered one night by students aboard a research vessel: this anomaly resting just about 70ft below the surface, standing about 1.5 ft tall, and stretching more than half a mile in length!
They think it was used by ancient peoples to hunt and corral reindeer between 10 and 11 thousand years ago. It has been nicknamed “Blinkerwall” due to its proximity to a nearby underwater mound called “Blinker Hill”.
This find is giving researchers valuable information about the activities of the prehistoric hunter-gatherers and their techniques for survival and hunting as well as the evolution of animal domestication and livestock herding.
Whoa! Big prehistoric Thor-looking peeps wrangling reindeer. How rock-n-roll is that? Makes us think of Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song!
