LISTENER STORY ALERT!!

Helloooooooo intuition. This episode, we had a write-in story about someone who felt like things were off…and they totally were. Spidey senses tingling all over the place.

Our advice: trust your gut. Err on the side of caution, apologize later.

The Incredible...Edible...Expensive...Illusive...Egg

Here. We. Go. Let’s just ask it: what is going on with eggs right now??

Anyone who does any shopping for standard grocery items knows that the price of eggs has skyrocketed over the last several months. The reason given is that an avian flu has killed off a large part of the chicken population in the US, and now there is shortage which has driven up prices significantly. And now those little eggs are a hot comodity…

But is this the whole story? Or is something more sinister going on behind the scenes?

Coinciding with these changes, small farmers and people who keep chickens for personal egg consumption noted decreased and sometimes completely halted laying of eggs by their chickens around September of 2022. We discussed the specific example of keeleys.coladas on TikTok. Parallels have been drawn between the chicken feed she and others were giving their chickens and the lack of eggs produced. After changing the feed, the chickens started producing eggs again, giving rise to the theory that something was wrong with the chicken feed. But is this accidental or deliberate?

Side note: do people not eat boiled and dyed Easter eggs? Is that a thing?

Anyway…back to the discussion. What’s really happening? Is this the result of the avian flu? Is it an innocently bad batch of chicken feed? Is it a strategic plan by a massive corporation to increase egg prices by creating egg shortages? Is this a clever plan to assist a political goal? Is it just a scare tactic or propaganda?

And why they gotta burn the chickens? Stop it.

We here at the Strange Woods Podcast just want to note that animal abuse is both uncool and underreported. If you or anyone you know has encountered animal abuse, please report it. Stand up for our fur and feather friends. Don’t be an animal-abusing douche. It’s sucky.
